To: Memo to All Concerned

To all of our valued clients, family, friends, and associates of CanineSmiles.net (Anesthesia-Free Teeth Cleaning AFTC) and PerfectPoochGrooming.com; we have good news and bad news to report. In this memo I attempt to combine the needs regarding emergency response and the needs concerning pet care because they are related. That is, many clients have expressed to me serious issues regarding pet care that need to be addressed ASAP. The concerns expressed regarding care of pets also affects mental well being of owners and pets in addition to hygienic and sanitary issues.

Good News:

Folks care about their pets and want what is best for them.

Caroline has provided a list of routine clients, and we have prioritized it with consideration to several conditions; i.e. the particular needs of the dog, length of time served, dog age, etc…

We are partnering with many local businesses to host events and provide AFTC services at their locations which will in turn help to raise funds for local charities and non-profit organizations. As our business becomes more well-known and successful, it allows us to participate in more philanthropic ventures, such as donations to women’s and men’s health assistance, musician aid groups, police benevolence society, local animal shelters and rescue groups, etc. We are in the process of consulting with an attorney about forming a non-profit organization. There will be more information about that in our future blogs.

More than 60 veterinarians in the Austin area have referred pets to us for AFTC. Our recent market survey indicates that veterinarians are charging an average of $550 for basic teeth cleaning (i.e. 30 pound dog with normal tartar buildup) For the same scenario we would currently charge around $330.

We have many positions available that we wish to fill in order to foster the growth of Canine Smiles. (see below)

We are having Solar and battery backup installed on home and RV and new Ford Transit Grooming vehicle. These systems will also be used to foster emergency communications staffed by Amateur Radio Operators during our current and future emergencies,

This email and first blog on CanineSmiles.net will be followed frequently by updates regarding AFTC and emergency activities. ARES, Amateur Radio Emergency Service, http://www.arrl.org/ares These are Amateur radio operators who are the “boots on the ground” licensed volunteer who assist the public during emergencies and other events such as marathons, event communications, emergency missing person database, and other databases, such as water leak location and communication with repair personnel, etc. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_Radio_Emergency_Service

  1. RACES, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_Radio_Emergency_Service these are amateur radio operators who are very skilled and interface directly with public officials and are the link to ARES “boots on the ground” when radio or digital services are interrupted these amateurs fill this role. In many instances these amateurs are physically located in city, state and/or federal operating centers.

Bad News:

We are temporarily experiencing delays in our ability to provide service, due to ongoing emergency conditions in the aftermath of the Big Freeze and storm.

The Ford RV used to provide our mobile services sustained significant piping and engine damage and we are working to complete repairs, and bring a new mobile unit on line as well.

Another issue that is significantly impacting my efforts to provide grooming and AFTC services is my duties as a retired public health official to assist in disaster relief at the state and federal level, and that responsibility is taking more than 50 percent of my time.

Servicing Clients:

All clients wishing to have AFTC services will be given top priority. Our grooming service is significantly reduced now and in the future as the AFTC demand is very significant. We are planning to begin providing AFTC service and minimal grooming (for existing clients) and teeth cleaning soon.

WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE all clients who are able to bring pets to our location. Please use local transportation services and friends to facilitate grooming at our location.

Business needs: (ATTENTION - NAMAKUA.COM)

Please be aware that we need to fill many positions in order to run our company. Our base starting salary is $15 per work hour and we anticipate it will rise as the business grows. Salaries will be raised concomitantly as business grows. Many of these positions can be fulfilled remotely. We are accepting applications for all positions. Our step by step proprietary method allows individuals with minimal experience to learn AFTC; as long as you really love dogs and cats and enjoy learning, WE NEED YOU. If you are interested, or you know someone else who may be interested, please have them call me at 512- 6804952 so we may discuss their interests and dreams for the future. So please feel free Y’ALL and apply at (https://www.caninesmiles.net/apply-for-a-position). Also keep this in mind, I like to encourage folks to consider how they might help Canine Smiles now and in the future? How might you serve now and grow to create your ideal position in the future? Such opportunity is yours to CREATE. Positions other than volunteers will be independent contractors; however, those who are very constructively involved may be considered for an employee position, as the corporation grows.

Benefits:

Both volunteers and paid employees will have considerable access to benefits secured and developing, through organizations such as Lowes, Home Depot, Sam’s; and various insurance companies including SelectQuote, access to reduced cost health, insurance, Etc., Etc… In addition, a free membership to Sam's Club, and a reduced membership cost to Costco are available. Also y’all can look forward to our most silly, fun loving, serious and LOVING good Hawaiian Islanders, DANCING BIG TIME, MUSIC BIG TIME, surfing, yup, check out KALAHARI.

Conclusion:

Although we have faced several challenges during the past months, we realize that others have had a much more difficult time. Our continued success will bring opportunities to help others, this is one of our core tenets as a company. We are grateful to our loyal family and friends, both longtime and new clients, helpful business partners and associates, and last but not least our devoted canine and feline extended family, whom our business exists to serve.
